New Tree Saplings Planted at Lincoln UTC

We recently received a pack of tree saplings from the Woodland Trust as part of its campaign to give away free trees for schools and colleges.

Every March and November, to coincide with tree planting season, The Woodland Trust offers schools free saplings. We received Silver Birch, Grey Willow, Field Maple, Dog Rose and Hawthorn saplings.

Lincoln UTC aims to promote environmental sustainability and one way to do this has been by planting trees; not only do the trees help to reduce ozone levels, but most importantly, our newly planted trees sequester carbon, helping to remove carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases from the air around us.

The saplings were planted by volunteer staff and students around the college’s outdoor spaces to be enjoyed, hopefully for years to come.
