This term has been full of opportunities for our students to continue their professional development at Lincoln UTC. Year 11 and year 13 took their final set of mock examinations in preparation for the summer exam season. Year 10 students have been busy securing placements for work experience in May and have all visited industry partner Househam Sprayers as part of their project-based learning. Mr Hamer travelled to Coventry University with a group of BTEC engineers for a taster day in degree level engineering and visited A Green Engineeringwith students in year 11 and year 13 for a tour of their facilities.

We also continued to develop our cross-cultural links and international relationships. Lincoln UTC has a close partnership with the Youth College in Hong Kong and this term a group of year 12 students began working on a collaborative project, in which they received a series ofworkshops on AI programming and then put their knowledge into practice by developing an AI system to detect road defects. Our students and staff also raised a huge £555.66 for the Ukraine Crisis Appeal from our ‘blue and yellow’ day. Thank you to everyone that donated.

On the 16th of March we hosted our final Open Event of this academic year. As you may already know, we received an unprecedented number of early applications to join year 10 in September2022 and have been oversubscribed since October. We still have a limited number of places available in year 12 and applications can be made through our website. In light of these circumstances, we have already opened applications for September 2023 for those students that are particularly keen to join us.

We wish all of our UTC community a happy Easter break, and look forward to seeing our students back on Wednesday 20th April.
