Congratulations to Alfie Hinton, who has secured an apprenticeship with Fairfield Control Systems, which develops control and automation systems for use in a wide range of applications, including the retractable roof over Wimbledon’s centre court, the London Eye and Tower Bridge.
During his three year apprenticeship, Alfie will spend time in all areas of the business as well as studying for a degree in Electrical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University.
Alfie, who beat over 40 other applicants to the role, is the second Lincoln UTC student to secure an apprenticeship with the company. Billy Hanner joined the company last year and is about about to enter the second of a three-year apprenticeship.
Alfie is obviously delighted with the news and Fairfields, which is an industry partner to Lincoln UTC are equally pleased with how their relationship with us developing: " forward to welcoming Alfie to Fairfields. We had 45 applicants this year so he did brilliantly. We’re really pleased the partnership is working so well with Lincoln UTC," said Katherine Finn, Business Administration Manager at Fairfields.
