Industry Partner: A Green Engineering
A Green Engineering have been in business since 1947, offering manufacturing, engineering and inspection services. The original company was founded by the grandfather of current Managing Director, Eian Green, and it has been family run ever since.
A Green are based in North Hykeham and have a wide range of machinery for precision engineering, including CNC lathes, milling machines and capstans. The company are trusted by some of the United Kingdom’s largest manufacturers to produce immensely tolerant and incredibly precise components for their turbines.
Industry connections are valuable for our students both during their studies and in future. The large majority of our alumni that have now secured apprenticeships did so as a direct consequence of the relationships they formed with these employers whilst students at the UTC.
Jack Armitage was invited by Jason Green to complete work experience at A Green Engineering whilst he was in year 13. Following the completion of his BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering, Jack was offered a full-time apprenticeship with the company.
Alfie Daly is currently working with A Green Engineering as
part of an industrial placement alongside his studies. He spends four days a
week in school and the remaining day with A Green.
