We are proud to have a significant number of employer partners involved in the delivery of our curriculum. By working in tandem with local businesses students have the opportunity to benefit from educational opportunities grounded within real industry experiences.
These connections are valuable for our students both during their studies and in future. The large majority of our alumni that have now secured apprenticeships did so as a direct consequence of the relationships they formed with these employers whilst students at the UTC.
“Fairfields has developed a close partnership with Lincoln UTC since its inception in 2015. This ensures that we maintain an active role in bridging the engineering skills gap and a continued and successful long-standing apprenticeship programme with the next generation of electrical engineers.
In the past we have offered several work placements to UTC students and delivered regular presentations to nurture interest in electrical and control engineering. Two UTC alumni have also been successfully recruited as apprentices, one of which has now been promoted into a full time position as a Design Engineer.”

“Today’s employer is looking for tomorrow’s innovation: Lincoln UTC provides an excellent opportunity for students to be prepared for that challenge, so that they can join employers such as Siemens as skilled technicians or as university graduates with a more informed understanding of business and industry in the vital fields of Science and Engineering”
- Nick Muntz, Managing Director, Siemens Lincoln
“The work our company is involved in (large diesel engines) has always struck a chord with the students from the UTC, they are actively encouraged and always want to engage in the activities on the shop floor. They leave with a good insight into our engineering sector with many wanting to return.”
- Chris Woolley, Managing Director, Imps Ltd.
“We have been proudly supporting Lincoln UTC over the past few years, taking on multiple students to join us at IOCEA to enhance their knowledge of development in the eCommerce industry. Setting the students a project for a week and seeing their personalities develop and knowledge grow is a pleasure for us. It is exciting to see the next generation of budding techs, marketeers and designers!”
